Meet Norman N. Sorensen
Audiologist & Owner, Mountain Plains Audiology

Norman N. Sorensen is a dedicated Audiologist and owner of Mountain Plains Audiology in Rapid City, South Dakota. A native of Wyoming, Norman has been serving the Black Hills community since 1999, providing compassionate, personalized hearing care to patients of all ages.
Norman earned his Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Utah State University in 1992 and his Master of Arts in Hearing and Speech Sciences – Audiology from Ohio University in 1994. Prior to establishing his practice in South Dakota, he gained clinical experience working in a hospital in Texas and an ENT clinic in Oregon, developing a well-rounded understanding of hearing healthcare across diverse settings.
Norman is passionate about educating patients about hearing loss and prevention, as well as helping those with hearing challenges reconnect with friends and family through improved communication. He combines technical expertise with a patient-centered approach to ensure every individual receives the best possible care and guidance.
Outside of audiology, Norman enjoys a full and active family life with his wife, Terri, and their five children: Ashley, Emily, Caitlyn, Wesley, and Edwin. The Sorensen family lives near Hermosa, where they explore the Black Hills and enjoy hiking, camping, hunting, and horseback riding. Norman is also actively involved in church and the Boys Scouts, reflecting his commitment to community and family values.
